The ground on which this church is built
and
the adjoingin land
to the South, East and North,
was presented in 1783
by
THE MAHARAJA NABO KISHEN BAHADUR,
The founder of Sovabazar Raj Family,
To the Hon"ble Warren Hastings
and the
Church Committee


The first stone of this Sacred Building, raised by the
Liberal and Voluntary subscriptions of
British subjects and others,
was laid under the auspices of
THE HON"BLE WARREN HASTINGS, Esq.,
Governor General of India.
On the 6th Day of the Month of April 1784,
and in the 13th Year of his Government.
