"Colonel in the Army in Ireland, met PJW, an Irish woman, on board ship they
married and consequently he had to resign his commission. He went to
Newfoundland and became a banker. He was a 'socialist' and set about buying
slaves and setting them free. There is monument in the US somewhere to him.

He had 4 sons: 1 barrister who returned to Liverpool, 2 doctors one of which
was a gaenicologist at Guy's."
