The BACSA Archive contains folders on the majority of the European cemeteries in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and some information on European cemeteries in places ranging from the Middle East to Afghanistan, Indonesia, Malaysia and China.
They are housed in the British Library, 96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB. To find out about the contents of the archive click the Bacsa Search menu to the left. The files themselves are available for consultation in the Asian and African Studies reading room at the Library. BACSA is unable to undertake unpaid research for people wanting information about a particular cemetery, although we can provide a list of professional researchers.
The records need to be continually updated to reflect the current state of the cemeteries, and we rely on volunteer effort for this. Therefore If you are travelling in South Asia and likely to visit European cemeteries, we would be grateful if you could download our Travellers & Tourists Form, and return it to us completed in order to contribute to the effort.
